The Town & City Gift cards scheme, launched by Miconex, allows debit-like cards to be bought online and sent as gifts, with a value of £10-£500, redeemable across multiple outlets in the location of choice. It’s no secret that local economies have been devastated by lockdown, and 22% of the 7.6 million jobs at risk in the UK are in retail. Projects like this will go some way in helping to repair the damage, and Miconex felt it was the right time to invest in a new website to support that.
A no-frills e-commerce website just wasn’t going to cut the mustard.
We needed to connect all of the different products and actions into one system and improve not only on UX, but on back end efficiency too. The answer? An integrated API to centralised fulfilment system.
With improvements to the Google API, we’ve delivered a better map experience for users to check participating locations and businesses. But perhaps best of all; The integrated fulfilment system has eradicated the need for printing and franking, providing automated customer email notifications, stamps and shipping information. We’ve made the process a whopping five times quicker. *insert painting nails emoji*
The number of towns, cities and businesses taking part in the scheme is already growing. With an expansion to Ireland and the USA on the cards too, we built the new platform so that it can be scaled up and scaled out whenever needed.
The result is a handsome looking, on-brand and innovative new product, which connects services and plays an integral part in Miconex’ move to improve local business.
